Through this project Washoe County, the second largest district in Nevada, will provide professional development activities to teachers in Washoe as well as the surrounding six rural counties. The major objectives of the project are to help teachers acquire content mastery of American history topics; retrieve and use primary source materials in lessons; acquire teaching skills necessary to implement their knowledge of American history; establish and maintain a supportive professional network. Partners include the University of Nevada, Reno, the Nevada State Library and Archives, and the Nevada Humanities Committee.
