Military children encounter many challenges unique to their situation, such as having a parent deployed for long periods of time, moving frequently, changing schools, and leaving friends. There are ways to recognize and encourage them, such as, holding open discussions with students about the life of a military child; arranging special activities that show support for military children; and reaching out to the new military child in your class.
