Objective: To provide literacy and life skills training linked to occupational skills training and transition assistance for medium and minimum security inmates.
Procedures: This project is divided into three phases of life skills instruction.Phase I will provide inmates at two prisons with 8 weeks of training in career exploration and goal development.Phase II will provide 6 months of vocational and life skills training at the Occupational Skills Training Center (O.S.T.C.).In Phase III, eligible inmates will be paroled with transition services.
Outcomes/Results/Products: To improve inmate employability and reduce recidivism.Publications will result.
