Objective: To provide assessment, career/education planning, literacy, life skills, on the job training, and transition services to functionally illiterate offenders.
Procedures: The TABE will be used to assess reading levels of prisoners.Educational software, on the job training, life skills training, pre-employment training, and individualized instruction are used.A transition agent will assist the offender in securing and maintaining employment, locating housing, and accessing transportation.
Outcomes/Results/Products: Improved literacy, life skills and job training and employment.Products include an implementation guide.
