OBJECTIVES: To provide academic and vocational assessment and subsequent training to increase the opportunity for inmates to successfully reintegrate into society.
PROCEDURES: Standardized assessments will ensure correct academic and vocational placement. Ninety female offenders will be enrolled in a comprehensive academic literacy and life management skill program. An Individual Development Plan will ensure offenders are placed in the appropriate instructional program; i.e., ABE or GED.
OUTCOMES/RESULTS/PRODUCTS: Reduced recidivism among inmates who participate in this program.
