Direct Loan Consolidation

The interest rate on a consolidation loan is based on the weighted average of the interest rates on the loans being consolidated, rounded to the next highest one-eighth of one percent. This rate shall not exceed 8.25 percent, and it is a fixed rate that remains the same throughout the life of the loan.
