Winnsboro High School

Secretary Riley visited schools in three states - Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi - on August 28, the second day of his Success Express America Goes Back to School bus tour.

The secretary?s first stop was Winnsboro High School in Franklin Parish, Louisiana. He visited a classroom at Winnsboro High housed in one of twenty portable classrooms outside the school. During a roundtable discussion, State Senator Noble Ellington told Secretary Riley, ?We need money to upgrade facilities?.We have trained educators that deserve a quality education.? In response, Secretary Riley described a bipartisan school construction bill that would provide $24.8 billion in interest free bonds to help build and modernize 6,000 schools nationwide.
