The Keystone Integrated Framework Project is designed to create an integrated, multidisciplinary curriculum framework model to be used by Pennsylvania schools and districts in development of K-12 curriculum standards to meet both state and national goals. The framework will be constructed so as to interconnect the arts, civics, English, geography and history. The goals of each content area will be designed to independently meet the content standards, yet will be further intensified through integration with each of the other targeted curricular areas.
Because state leadership is crucial to the success of establishing content standards, the keystone integrated Framework Project will involve a collaboration of content specialists, research scholars, university professors (both content and teacher training experts), school- based practitioners, state and local educational administrators, community partners, representatives from private schools, state and local government officials, and parents.

The Keystone integrated Framework Project and its resulting print and media documents will provide the vision and direction for an innovative approach to the integration of content standards to meet the needs of all children in Pennsylvania and a plan for teacher preparation and staff development to assist teachers in implementation of content standards and integrated curriculum.
