The U.S. Department of Education announced today that 31 applications have been selected as finalists for the Race to the Top-District (RTTT-D) competition.
U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan today honors 286 schools as the 2013 National Blue Ribbon Schools at an awards luncheon at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. The award honors public and private schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in improving student academic achievement.

U.S. Department of Education Announces Voluntary Resolution of Sun Prairie Area School District Compliance Review
The U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights (OCR) announced today the successful resolution of a compliance review of the Sun Prairie Area School District in Sun Prairie, Wis. The review examined whether the school district discriminates against black students on the bases of race or disability in the referral, evaluation and placement of these students in special education.

The U.S. Department of Education today announced results for the fourth round of the Investing in Innovation (i3) competition, which will award the 25 highest-rated applications (HRAs) more than $135 million to expand innovative practices designed to improve student achievement.
