U.S. Under Secretary of Education Ted Mitchell to Visit Oakland High School for Oakland Promise Launch Event

U.S. Under Secretary of Education Ted Mitchell will travel to Oakland, California on Thursday, Jan. 28, where he will visit Oakland High School and speak at the Oakland Promise launch event. Mitchell will join University of California President Janet Napolitano to provide brief remarks on the Oakland Promise—an integrated cradle‐to‐career initiative to ensure that all students have the expectations, resources and skills needed to complete college and embark on a successful career. The city's goal is to triple the number of college graduates from Oakland within eight years.
