U.S. Under Secretary of Education Martha Kanter will discuss the Obama Administration’s initiatives to increase college access, affordability and completion, as well as the importance of American higher education to ongoing international efforts when she addresses the International Symposium on Cultural Diplomacy on Tuesday, June 26, at 10 a.m. ET in Washington, D.C. Her speech is entitled “Leveraging Cultural Diplomacy for Democracy’s Future and the Common Good.”
Hosted by the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy, the event is one of three symposia being held worldwide to bring together government & diplomatic officials, academics & scholars, economists, policymakers and private sector representatives to effectively use soft power to promote international peace and economic prosperity. The others were held in Geneva and Berlin earlier this month.
