U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan to Visit Oakland and Berkeley, Meet with Regional Superintendents, Principals, Teachers and Tour Local School

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will join Rep. Barbara Lee (D-9) for a meeting with Merritt Community College President Robert Adams and a roundtable discussion with regional superintendents, principals and teachers on Friday, September 10, in Oakland, Calif. The group will have a broad discussion about the Administration’s education reform agenda and the state of education in California. Following the college visit, Secretary Duncan and Rep. Lee will hold media availability from 10:45-11 a.m. before heading to Longfellow Middle School in Berkeley, Calif. where they will meet with students and tour the school as California kicks off the 2010-2011 school year.
