The Obama administration has taken unprecedented steps to make college more affordable for our nation's students and families. Under the President's leadership, the administration has doubled the investments in Pell Grants, expanded income-based repayment options to help students manage student loan debt, and lowered interest rates on all new student loans this year. The administration also has released the College Scorecard and Financial Aid Shopping Sheet, two important resources that provide consumers with easy-to-understand information about college costs and affordability.
Carnegie Corporation of New York—in cooperation with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation—are co-sponsoring the TIME Summit on Higher Education. The event will bring together college presidents and experts in higher education, elected officials, military officials, and corporate and philanthropic leaders. The session will be live streamed at time.com/highered. The link will be live starting tonight around 7 p.m. ET.
