U.S. Education Secretary to Host Town Hall with Top Educators

U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan will continue to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week with an event at the Department of Education on Thursday, May 5, at 1 p.m. EDT. Duncan will host a town hall discussion with the National and State Teachers of the Year, as well as the Teacher Ambassador Fellows, at the Department of Education headquarters. The teachers will discuss key challenges and issues and brainstorm new ideas during a conversation with Duncan, Department senior officials and other education leaders. Members of the media who wish to attend are asked to be set by 12:45 p.m. and RSVP to press@ed.gov.

Also this week, please join U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan in thanking a teacher who has made a difference in your life or in the life of someone you care about by posting their name and a message via Facebook, Twitter and other social networks.
