U.S. Education Department's Carl Harris to Participate in Panel Discussion on Education, Innovation

Carl Harris, deputy assistant secretary for policy and state technical assistance at the U.S. Education Department, will participate in a panel discussion on education and innovation as part of the 2010 Marshall Forum on Transatlantic Affairs Friday at Hillside New Tech High School in Durham, N.C.
Harris, former superintendent of schools in Durham, will join in a dialogue on how students, teachers and leaders here and abroad are redesigning how we learn for the 21st century. The forum, most of which is being held in Raleigh, is sponsored by the German Marshall Fund of the United States. The German Marshall Fund is a non-partisan American public policy and grantmaking institution dedicated to promoting better understanding and cooperation between North America and Europe on transatlantic and global issues.
