U.S. Department of Education Senior Official Michael Yudin to Discuss Inclusion, Equity and Opportunity for Children with Disabilities at PACER Event

Michael Yudin, acting assistant secretary for the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS), will give remarks and meet with stakeholders at a Parent Advocacy Coalition for Educational Rights (PACER) Center event in Bloomington, Minn., on Tuesday, Aug. 20, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Yudin will address inclusion, equity and opportunity for all children with disabilities and their families, and discuss the importance of parent/family partnerships with schools and districts in the educational process. He also will highlight information on bullying, specifically as it relates to students with disabilities. Participants will include State Education Agency staff, local special education directors, administrators, teachers, other school personnel and parents.
Founded in 1977, the PACER Center’s mission is to expand opportunities and enhance the quality of life of children and young adults with disabilities and their families. The organization was created by parents of children and youth with disabilities to help other parents and families facing similar challenges.
