U.S. Under Secretary of Education Martha Kanter will discuss the report “Help Wanted: Projections of Jobs and Education Requirements Through 2018,” released by the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce at the National Press Club on Tuesday, June 15, at 9:30 a.m.
The report will outline the urgent need for college completion as America seeks to overcome the financial crisis as well as the demonstrated historical correlation between postsecondary education and entry into the middle class. Dr. Kanter will place the findings of the report in the context of President Obama’s 2020 goal for higher education and the need to once again have the best educated, most competitive workforce in the world.
