U.S. Education Department Convenes Summit to Explore Transition to Sustainable, Green Economy

The U.S. Department of Education will host the "Sustainability Education Summit: Citizenship and Pathways for a Green Economy" Monday and Tuesday in Washington, D.C. More than 300 experts will come together to begin developing an action plan for a broad national approach to economic sustainability, centering on higher education and the education system in general.

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan to Meet with Race to the Top Grantees, Discuss their Reform Efforts

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will host a session of the first Race to the Top grantee meeting from 12:30 p.m. – 2 p.m. on September 16, 2010, in Washington, DC. U.S. Department of Education and National Institute on Drug Abuse Launch New Drug Awareness Campaign

How much do you really know about drugs? An Education Policy Briefing, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, will let you test your knowledge at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, in the Department’s Barnard Auditorium. The Department has teamed up with the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) to help launch National Drug Facts Week, Nov. 8-14.
