Senior U.S. Education Official to Hold Town Hall on Education at Georgia State University, Visit High School

Massie Ritsch, acting assistant secretary for communications and outreach at the U.S. Department of Education, will travel to Atlanta Monday where he will tour a local high school and hold a town hall on education reform at Georgia State University.

At noon, Ritsch will visit with students and teachers at Cross Keys High School where the school's motto is "Empower Students by Educating to Excellence." From 2 to 3:30 p.m., Ritsch will hold a town hall on education at Georgia State University. Georgia State is using a Teacher Quality Program grant from the U.S. Education Department to administer its Network for Enhancing Teaching-Quality (NET-Q). The funds will support and test innovations in the area of teacher and principal quality.
