Secretary Duncan to visit Dallas for Panel Discussion on Early Learning at the U.S. Conference of Mayors Annual Meeting

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will visit Dallas tomorrow to serve as a panelist in a discussion titled “Building an Early Learning Nation” at the U.S. Conference of Mayors Annual Meeting.

Noted journalist and author John Hockenberry will moderate the panel, which will also include Denver Mayor Michael Hancock; Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson; Seattle Mayor Ed Murray; Patricia Kuhl, co-director of the Institute for Learning and Brain Science at the University of Washington; and Jackie Bezos, president of the Bezos Family Foundation.

The panel will highlight how parents, scientists, community partners, business, non-government organizations and leaders at every level of government are working together to ensure children – from birth to five and no matter where they live – have the opportunity to fulfill their potential.
