On Wednesday, October 23, 2013, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will deliver remarks at the public meeting of the Financial Literacy and Education Commission (FLEC). The Commission is comprised of 21 federal agencies that work together to promote the financial literacy of Americans. Secretary Duncan will discuss the administration's plans to drive down college costs and increase affordability, while at the same time ensuring that students and families have the information and tools to make informed decisions about going to and financing postsecondary education.
The Secretary will be joined by Treasury Security Jacob J. Lew and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Director Richard Cordray. Acting Treasury Deputy Secretary Mary Miller will also address the Commission.

Media attending with camera equipment should arrive at the South Entrance (on 15th Street and Alexander Hamilton Avenue) no later than 7:45 a.m. to allow time for equipment sweeps and set-up. No vehicles will be permitted onto Treasury grounds; equipment must be carried in. All other media should arrive by 8:30 a.m. at the North entrance (Pennsylvania Avenue and 15th Street).
