U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will join Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy at Classical Magnet School in Hartford, Conn., tomorrow to co-host a town hall on comprehensive school safety efforts. Secretary Duncan will highlight the urgent need to ensure that all children are able to grow up free of fear and the Department's work to support recovery efforts following last December's tragic shootings in Newtown, Conn.
Secretary Duncan and Gov. Malloy will be joined by members of Connecticut's congressional delegation – including U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy and U.S. Congressman John Larson – for the event, along with state, city, and district officials; teachers; parents; and students. The town hall will be followed by a press availability.
