U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will address a national special education conference Tuesday at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, Va. Duncan will speak to about 250 parent training program grant recipients attending the 2010 OSEP Leadership Mega Conference. The event is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Special Education Programs.
More than 700 people involved with educating America's 6.7 million children and youth with disabilities are attending the conference, which began Monday and continues through Thursday. State special education directors, parent information center leaders and early childhood educators are among the groups represented.
