Secretary Cardona to Join U.S. Rep. Glenn Ivey to Discuss Importance of Career Pathways and Apprenticeships in K-12 Education

On Wednesday, Aug. 2, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona will travel to Temple Hills, Maryland, alongside U.S. Rep. Glenn Ivey, where they will focus on career pathways and apprenticeship programs at Crossland High School. Secretary Cardona and Rep. Ivey will speak with students from the various apprenticeship programs, employers that partner with the school, and school leadership to discuss the importance of early access to career pathways programs.

A press gaggle will take place following the event.

This trip comes on the heels of President Biden’s Investing in America agenda of growing the American economy from the bottom up and middle-out – from rebuilding our nation’s infrastructure, to driving over $503 billion in private sector investments in the United States, to creating good paying jobs and building a clean-energy economy that will combat climate change and make our communities more resilient.
