Secretaries Cardona and Walsh to Visit Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology in Boston, Speak with Students and Leaders About Creating Opportunity and Supporting Students in Postsecondary Career Pathways

On Friday, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona will travel to Boston with U.S. Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh to tour Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology. Secretaries Cardona and Walsh will meet with students, discuss the Biden-Harris administration’s Economic Blueprint, and learn more about the school’s career pathways courses including their, robotics and renewable energy classes.

To advance the goal of reimagining traditional educational pathways and improving equitable opportunities for all students, the President's Budget for fiscal year 2023 includes a new $200 million investment in Career-Connected High Schools, an initiative that would support competitive grants to partnerships of local educational agencies, institutions of higher education—including community colleges—and employers.
