Lynnae Ruttledge, commissioner of the U.S. Department of Education's Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA), will deliver the keynote address to the American Association of People with Disabilities' Policy Forum on Rehabilitation and New Technologies Friday in Washington.
In her remarks, Ruttledge will discuss the work of RSA in tele-rehabilitation and its potential for more effective delivery of services and professional development training. The theme of the conference is, “Where Rehabilitation and Broadband Technologies Intersect: A Policy Conference on New Approaches.” About 60 to 100 consumers, clinicians, practitioners, private sector representatives, Capitol Hill staff and policymakers are expected to attend.
As commissioner, Ruttledge oversees grant programs that help individuals with physical or mental disabilities obtain employment and live more independently through such supports as counseling, medical and psychological services, job training and other individualized services.
