Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) Commissioner Lynnae Ruttledge will testify on the employment of individuals with intellectual disabilities at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 2, before the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, 430 Dirksen Building, Washington, D.C.
Ruttledge will provide comments on the Department of Education’s programs that support the transition of youth with intellectual disabilities from school to work or postsecondary education.
In her testimony, Ruttledge will discuss the need to establish high expectations for America’s youth with disabilities. She will describe how her agency is helping those individuals land jobs and earn wages that can lead to self-sufficiency. Ruttledge will also discuss how her office is identifying promising practices to serve as successful models that can be replicated.
