Rehabilitation Services Administration Commissioner Lynnae Ruttledge will give the keynote address at the Virginia Transition Forum on Monday, March 14 in Norfolk, Va. Ruttledge will discuss the Education Department’s vocational rehabilitation programs and services to help students transition from school to work settings, or to postsecondary education.
The theme of the forum is entitled, “Taking Steps to Person-Centered Thinking,” and emphasizes the importance of focusing on an individual’s interests, strengths and abilities, and using that information to create a specific plan of action to achieve the individual’s goals. The Virginia Transition Forum brings together students, parents, educators, rehabilitation professionals, and others to guide youth with disabilities to achieve successful employment and life outcomes.
