Education Under Secretary to Discuss Financial Aid as Tool for Driving Student Success at MDRC Conference

U.S. Under Secretary of Education Martha Kanter will deliver remarks at the MDRC Performance-Based Scholarship Site Conference at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 10. Kanter will highlight the Administration’s efforts to increase college affordability and ways financial aid can be used to boost student success.

The three-day event will be held at the CUNY Graduate Center in New York City. MDRC, a nonprofit education and social policy research organization, is conducting a national demonstration project to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of performance-based scholarships as a tool to increase persistence and accelerate progress toward degrees for low-income college students
