Education Secretary to Review 2011 Priorities and Encourage Local Leaders During ASCD Conference

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will highlight 2011 education priorities, including the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), during the ASCD Leadership Institute for Legislative Advocacy Conference on Monday, Jan. 24, at 8:20 a.m. ASCD, an educational leadership organization, will hold the event at the Westin Grand Hotel in Washington, D.C.

The institute will feature the public release of ASCD’s 2011 legislative agenda and several sessions with policymakers and government leaders. Duncan will focus on key strides the Department has made so far and encourage education leaders to continue pushing for reform. The event will be open to the press.
