Education Secretary Duncan Joins Mayor Gray and DCPS Interim Chancellor Henderson for Back-to-School Event at Sousa Middle School

U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan, District of Columbia Mayor Vincent Gray and District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) Interim Chancellor Kaya Henderson will kick off 2011 and the semester with a back-to-school event at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6., at Sousa Middle School.

Duncan will greet students and meet with teachers and school administrators to discuss the Obama Administration’s initiatives to increase students’ success in the classroom, close the achievement gap, and reauthorize the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, also known as No Child Left Behind.
