Assistant Secretary for Vocational and Adult Education (OVAE) Brenda Dann-Messier will give remarks on Monday, April 18, at 8 a.m. at the National Association of State Directors of Career and Technical Education Consortium (NASDCTECc) Spring Meeting, taking place at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC. Dann-Messier will discuss the Department’s commitment to ensuring career and technical education serves as a viable and rigorous pathway to college and career success for all students.

In the afternoon, at 3 p.m., Andrea Saenz, a Broad Fellow from the Office of Vocational and Adult Education (OVAE), will lead a Career and Technical Education Community Conversation. This discussion is part of a series of community conversations on OVAE’s listening and learning tour, which provides the opportunity to hear feedback from partners and constituents regarding the role of the Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act in helping to ensure that all students are ready to succeed in advanced training and careers.

NASDCTEc is an association of state career education agency heads who are committed to quality career and technical education at the secondary, postsecondary and adult levels.
