Education Department Assistant Secretary to Address Career and Technical Education Collaboration in Las Vegas in Las Vegas

Brenda Dann-Messier, the assistant secretary for the Office of Vocational and Adult Education, will travel to Las Vegas this week to participate in the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) 2010 Annual Convention and Career Tech Expo. Dann-Messier will deliver the general session opening remarks on Thursday, Dec. 2, at 8:30 a.m. and highlight the components of career and technical education and the collaborative efforts among education leaders.

ACTE is the largest national education association dedicated to the advancement of education that prepares youth and adults for careers. The conference, which will run through Dec. 4, will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center. It is open to the press.
