Jim Shelton, the assistant deputy secretary for the Office of Innovation and Improvement, will deliver the keynote address at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4, during the Independent Education dinner. The dinner, which begins at 6:30 p.m., will be held at The Harbor School in Bethesda, Md.
Independent Education, formerly known as the Association of Independent Schools of Greater Washington (AISGW), is a regional association representing independent schools in the Greater Washington, D.C., area. At the dinner, Shelton will discuss current and potential opportunities for partnership and collaboration between the Department and private schools and highlight examples of innovative practices in private schools across the country.
