Director of White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities to Address Higher Ed Forum

John S. Wilson, director of the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities, will address a conference of the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education Thursday in Braselton, Ga., northeast of Atlanta.
In his remarks to the association's 2010 Presidential Peer Seminar and Leadership Development Institute, Wilson will discuss the key dilemmas facing HBCUs today and why it is important for the nation to help strengthen their capacity. He will also highlight some of the unique challenges that HBCU leaders can meet as they strive for academic excellence.
America's 105 HBCUs are located in 20 states, the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands, serving more than 300,000 students.
