Department Senior Official to Discuss National Educational Technology Plan at TIES 2010 Education Technology Conference in Minneapolis

The U.S. Department of Education's Karen Cator will discuss the National Educational Technology Plan and how technology is shaping the future of education in America during the TIES 2010 Education Technology conference in Minneapolis on Monday, Dec. 6 at 2:15 p.m. Cator will give a presentation entitled “Transforming American Education: Learning Powered by Technology.” She will discuss how the Administration plans to improve the opportunity for the nation's learners to obtain a 21st century education by using technology to transform teaching and learning.
TIES is a cooperative owned by 41 Minnesota school districts that represent about 400 schools and more than 250,000 students. TIES was created as Technology Information Education Services in 1967 to provide technology and information resources to school administrators, educators and students.
