Department Senior Official to Discuss National Educational Technology Plan at Microcomputers in Education Conference

The U.S. Department of Education’s Director of Educational Technology Karen Cator will provide the opening keynote at the Microcomputers in Education Conference (MEC) Monday, March 14 in Tempe, Ariz. Cator will discuss “Transforming American Education: Learning Powered by Technology. During her remarks, Cator will give an overview on the National Education Technology Plan and how technology is shaping the future of education in America.
More than 1,200 educators, administrators, technology coordinators and buyers in K-12 and higher education attend the MEC each year to learn about the educational technologies available to them and their classrooms. The conference enables participants to share projects, success stories, and expertise with other educators from around the world and provides a platform for educators to share their experiences with one another, and help spread innovative teaching techniques into the 21st century classroom.
