Sue Swenson, deputy assistant secretary for special education and rehabilitative services, and Lynnae Ruttledge, commissioner of the Education Department's Rehabilitation Services Administration, will deliver the breakfast keynote address at the 2011 State of the Art Conference on Postsecondary Education and Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. Swenson and Ruttledge will speak at 8:15 a.m. at the Mason Inn Conference Center and Hotel in Fairfax, Va.
In their remarks, Swenson and Ruttledge will focus on policy and advocacy for students with intellectual disabilities in colleges and universities. Several counselors and educators are expected to attend the annual event, which will feature conversations on fiscal resources for postsecondary students with intellectual disabilities, leadership and systematic change, and the transition to college.
