Civil Rights Assistant Secretary to Address D.C.'s Benjamin Banneker Academic High School Graduation

Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights Russlynn Ali will deliver the commencement address at Benjamin Banneker Academic High School’s graduation ceremony Thursday at Howard University’s Cramton Auditorium in Washington, D.C.
Banneker Academic High is one of the D.C. Public Schools’ International Baccalaureate Diploma Program sites and offers Pre-IB, Advanced Placement and its own summer institute as additional rigorous academic options.
As Assistant Secretary, Ali heads the Office for Civil Rights, a position she has held since 2009. Her office works to ensure equal access to education and promote educational excellence throughout the nation through vigorous enforcement of civil rights.
