Eduardo Ochoa, U.S. assistant secretary for postsecondary education, will give remarks to more than 300 participants attending the U.S. Professor of the Year Awards luncheon at Noon on Thursday, Nov. 17, at the Newseum in Washington, D.C.
Sponsored by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, awards will go to four national winners representing associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree-granting institutions, as well as numerous state winners. Ochoa’s remarks will pay tribute to these professors for the profound difference they have made in the lives of their students and their contributions to their teaching fields. He will also discuss the Obama Administration’s higher education initiatives and work of the Department to advance the 2020 college completion goal.
