Assistant Secretary Posny to Address Texas Council of Administrators of Special Education

Dr. Alexa Posny, assistant secretary for the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, will speak to the annual convention of the Texas Council of Administrators of Special Education Thursday in Fort Worth. Her remarks will come during participation in a panel entitled, "Education Law and Policy: What Special Education Administrators Need to Know Now." Posny will discuss state and federal developments in special education policy and the law.

As assistant secretary, Posny oversees administration of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) which provides America's 6.7 million children and youth with disabilities with the right to a free appropriate public education.
