Dr. Alexa Posny, assistant secretary for the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, will address the 26th Annual Evaluation Systems Group of Pearson Conference Wednesday in Rosemont, Ill. The Evaluation Systems Group of Pearson provides standards-based teacher certification testing programs.
Posny's presentation is entitled, “Transform vs. Reform: Which is the Future of Education?” Conference attendees include legislators, state board of education members, union officials and other key leadership, including chief state school officers, certification and licensure representatives, education deans and representatives of key associations.
As assistant secretary, Posny oversees administration of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) which provides America's 6.6 million children and youths with disabilities the right to a free appropriate public education.
