Eduardo Ochoa, assistant secretary for postsecondary education, will provide the opening plenary remarks at the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) annual conference on Jan. 25 at 9:15 a.m. The event will take place at the Washington Marriott in Washington, D.C.
In his remarks, Ochoa will discuss the role of accreditation in the present-day American higher education landscape. He will also answer questions from college and university administrators, accreditors, and domestic and international higher education associations. The conference, entitled “The Evolving Role and Responsibilities of Accreditation,” will also feature U.S. Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.), who was recently named to head the Subcommittee on Higher Education, Lifelong Learning, and Competitiveness on the House Education and Labor Committee.
