U.S. Assistant Secretary for Special Education and Rehabilitative Services Alexa Posny will deliver the commencement address at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) at Rochester Institute of Technology in New York on Friday May 25. Posny will highlight the importance of a college education and how NTID students are helping reach President Obama’s 2020 national goal to lead the world in college completion. She will offer words of encouragement and inspiration to students on this important milestone as they prepare for future studies and employment.
NTID is one of the nine colleges of Rochester Institute of Technology. Its primary mission is to provide deaf and hard-of-hearing students with outstanding state-of-the-art technical and professional education programs, complemented by a strong arts and sciences curriculum that prepare them to live and work in the rapidly changing global community and enhance their lifelong learning.
