Assistant Secretary to Deliver Remarks at the National Title I Association Meeting

U.S. Department of Education Assistant Secretary Thelma Meléndez de Santa Ana will deliver opening remarks at the National Title I Association summer meeting at 8 a.m. Thursday, July 29, at the Hotel Palomar in Washington, D.C. She will discuss the important role of Title I directors in ensuring that federal funds are effectively used to help the neediest students in the lowest-performing schools, as well as provide an update on the Administration’s blueprint for revising the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). The blueprint challenges the nation to embrace education standards that would put America on a path to global leadership.
