Assistant Secretary Dann-Messier to Discuss Building Skilled Workforce in Remarks Friday in San Diego

Assistant Secretary for Vocational and Adult Education Brenda Dann-Messier will address the American Association of Community Colleges' annual Workforce Development Institute on Friday, Feb. 1, in San Diego.
Dann-Messier will participate in a panel entitled, "Where the Jobs Are: IT Businesses and IT-Dependent Employers." She will discuss ways in which the U.S. Department of Education and the community college association can collaborate to ensure the country's economy is supported by a skilled workforce.
As assistant secretary, Dann-Messier administers the department's programs on adult, career and technical education, as well as community colleges and correctional education.
