Brenda Dann-Messier, assistant secretary for the Office of Vocational and Adult Education, will discuss current trends affecting adult education and the economy during her keynote remarks at the Virginia Association for Adult and Continuing Education (VAACCE) Conference on Thursday, April 12 in Norfolk, Va. After her remarks, Dann-Messier will be joined by Cheryl Keenan, director of Adult Education and Literacy, for a Twitter Town Hall, to discuss adult education issues facing programs, practitioners, and students.
The theme of the conference is “Changing our Latitudes, Changing our Attitudes,” and sponsored by the VAACCE and the Commission on Adult Basic Education.
As assistant secretary, Dann-Messier leads the Education Department's efforts in adult, career and technical education, as well as community colleges and correctional education.
