Assistant Secretary Brenda Dann-Messier to Discuss Workforce Development and Adult Education Policies in Capital Workforce Partners Roundtable Discussions

Dr. Brenda Dann-Messier, assistant secretary for the Office of Vocational and Adult Education, will visit Capital Workforce Partners in Hartford, Conn. Tuesday, July 6. During her visit, Dr. Messier will participate in two roundtable discussions, a morning roundtable, titled "Pathways to Career Readiness," that will take place at One Union Place, and an afternoon roundtable, titled "Workforce Development Alignment/Employer Engagement," that will take place at the Connecticut Science Center – Travelers Science Hall. Dr. Messier will also attend a Connecticut Department of Education luncheon at the science center.

During her visit, Dr. Messier will meet with state and local adult vocational education leaders, key career and technical education and adult education leaders, key community stakeholders and Capital Workforce board members. Dr. Messier will discuss the importance of integrating workforce development and education policy and programs at the federal, state and local levels.
