On Friday, Alexa Posny, assistant secretary for the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, will present remarks at the Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee (IACC) in Bethesda, Md. Posny will discuss the Education Department's vision and programs for children with autism.
The Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee (IACC) is a federal advisory committee that coordinates all efforts within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) concerning autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Through its inclusion of both federal and public members, the IACC helps to ensure that a wide range of ideas and perspectives are represented and discussed in a public forum. The IACC consists of federal members from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health, HHS, or their designees, as well as representatives of other governmental agencies that serve individuals with autism spectrum disorder such as the Department of Education.
