Kevin Jennings, assistant deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools, will discuss the role of school nurses in keeping schools safe and helping students grow both personally and academically at the 2010 Summer Nurse Institute. He will give remarks at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the Marriott Inn & Conference Center, University of Maryland University College, 3501 University Blvd. East, Hyattsville, Md.
The event is hosted by Children’s School Services School Health Program, which provides nursing and health services in more than 160 public and public charter schools in the District of Columbia. The program’s mission is to enhance education by maximizing the health and well-being of youth in the District’s public schools.
